What is KnightShift Showcase?

KnightShift Showcase is an anthology and a sounding board for potential new series depending on reader reaction.  The stories can of course be ongoing for as long as you want to keep them going.

Though I cannot promise a spot in every issue...that depends on what I get first.  It is a first come first serve basis.  Whoever has their stories in first gets the spot in the book.  A spot in the book will not be contingent on quality or content of story or art, except in the case of blatant pornography, which will not be accepted under any circumstances.  KSE will not edit or censor content but please keep in mind that the more reader friendly the book is the greater potential for sales. 

Covers will feature something from all the stories in that issue but one artist will be asked to create the cover and that story will be featured prominently on the cover. 

Payment will be a profit share situation.  Once we recover all production cost plus 30% of anticipated sales.  Full example of this is show at the bottom of the page.

Logo Design: $75 - Our graphic designer will design 3 logo samples for you to choose from based on your specifications.  There will be a $25 charge for each additional design.

Pre-Press setup:
10-15 Pages - $50
15-25 Pages - $75
26 + Pages - $100

Inking: $15 per page.

Lettering: $10 per Page.

Color: Ask for Quote.


Here is how payment to KSE is calculated:

If we print 300 copies of a book and charge $3.00 per book, that would be a total of $900 in sales.  If it cost $200 to print, that would make $700 in profit.  That $200 would be paid back to KSE and then 30% of $700 will go to KSE.  So in this example, KSE would be paid $410 with the remaining $490 divided among the creators.

The $490 would be divided by the number of pages in the issue and then that number will be multiplied by the number of pages you had in the issue.  In this example, let’s say the issue had 40 pages.  That would be $490 divided by 40, which is $12.25 per page.  Then if you had 10 page in the book you would received $122.50 for that issue.  If your story is the cover feature this will count as a page and be added into your total.

Please keep in mind these are just sample calculations.  Actual printing cost will vary.  In addition to this, KSE will have one main contact per creative team.  This contact will be issued the payment and is responsible for making sure that their creative team is paid.
