 The Assassins' Guild Universe

America is not much more than a conglomerate of corporations controlled by 5 of the richest and most powerful people in the world. Together they are called the Coalition of Corporate Officers. In the early part of the twentieth century the world was plagued by terrorist cells and rogue nations starting micro wars worldwide. One president after another promised to end the violence and bring US troops home. They all failed to keep their promises and continued to send troops to foreign nations every year, because war is profitable. That is until 2036 when a new, more passive man was elected. The people knew he would bring the wars to an end. Instead he brought the nation to its knees. Forcing tens of thousands of American troops into retirement and removing 95% of troops from overseas. This caused a drop in the economy like no other. Homelessness and unemployment skyrocketed and the nation fell into depression. Unable to generate enough revenue to keep the nation going he turned to the coalition for assistance. The CCO paid the national debt in return for control of the nation. Against the disapproval of the Senate, Congress and the American people, the President agreed As the CCO began the dissolution of all branches of the government and placing themselves in power, a revolution was growing. A revolution that resulted in the destruction of Washington DC and the CCO's initiation of New Washington as the nations capital.

G-Max was build about 25 years ago to cope with the over population problem of maximum-security facilities around the world. But they don’t just house your average criminal here. You have to have to do something extraordinarily bad to get sentenced here. That means only multi-lifers and death row inmates are sent here. People like international terrorist, serial killers, mass murders and in some cases, people convicted of treason.

When you are sentenced to life, you will spend your last days here because there is no parole. But not many people die of old age at G-Max. The average life span of any given inmate is 36 months.
